Both Arnold Toynbee and noted southern historian C. Vann Woodward suggest that “it is morally desirable to recognize that ‘history [has] happened to my people in my part of the world.’”  Adhering to this philosophy, it is my goal for students to recognize themselves in others' historical experiences. While emphasizing the use of primary sources, technology integration and project based learning, it is my hope that students have a greater affinity for and appreciation of the relevancy of history in our lives.
